THE MILANESE EVENT IS ALWAYS ATTRACTIVE

The Milan Internationa Furnishing Show continues to amaze (called by now for some years “I Saloni” due to the organisation of side events, in addition to the International show of furnisching complements, the Salone Satellite and the biennial shows Euroluce, the international show of lighting systems, and the Salone Ufficio and the International Biennial Fair of the work place) and at its 50th edition boasts the record success in terms of attendance: 321.320 visitors in total, of whom 282.483 industry operators, with a growth of 2% compared with 2009, the year when the last Euroluce fair took place. Almost 178.00 foreign operators, 63% of the total attendance –last years 56%. A success that wasn’t only in quantity, taking into account the satisfacition of the exhibitors in furnishing market’s situation which is still critical for Italy. The growth in foreign attendees demonstrates, on the one side, the world leadership of the Milanese Salon and, on the other, that many countries got over the crisis and the final affirmation of the others among the healthiest economies in the world. There were a lot of Asians, but the Cosmit organisers didn’t give detailed figures subdivided into single countries,

In the exhibitors’ opinion, there was surely a high level of quality as regards these operators, a quality which is for the attending companies a concrete opportunity to meet commercial partners and develop businesses.

We are higly satisfied of the work we carried out for this 50th edition of the Saloni” affirmed Carlo Guglielmi, president of Cosmit, “today results award the commitment and dedication of 50 years of work. But we won’t either stop here or limit to a celebration of the past: today the figures are a new input to look at the future and at the next fair editions. We are aware that we will face important challenges, first of all a new discussion of the idea of “quality”. That’s a difficult challenge that involves the exhibitors, bu also us, as an organisation. As regards household linen, Th Salone del Mobile is becoming increasingly more marginal and that’s confirmed by the reduction in attendees compared with the last years.

Lino Russo wich attended the fair with the Linit brand in pavilion 8, finally in a decorous position that allowed meeting the visitors in the best way. Therefore, the bed and table items in pure linen matching with homewear pieces an the new delicate curtains achieved high success.
